about

In Flagranti-run Codek Records is set to put out ‘Super Sounds Vol. 3′. It’s a compilation of edits, reworks, remixes by a few artists in the Codek Family including a nice rework of Freddie Mas – tails of prevalence by Brennan Green. Ever since the first ‘Super Sounds’ release, there has been much speculation that the artists included are actually In Flagranti in disguise since no one had heard of the artists before (or subsequently anything after) the release. Alex and Sasha, you cant hide your lazer popping reverb disco from us…..we love you too much. – iheartcomix.com

Third instalement for INFLAGRANTI’s series of weirdo tracks and edits. This time from the likes of FREDERIC SINFUL, FREDDIE MAS, BORKE WOERTER, and the man himself INFLAGRANTI. Expect the (un)usual dose of dancefloor action – twisted disco and punk funk junk – with the famous SOUNDS SUPERB twist that is getting this series so much success. – phonicarecords.co.uk

Third volume of cosmic, electro-disco goodness from the Sounds Superb series on Codek. Once again it’s a grab bag of tracks from a bunch of different artists, all of which contribute quality regardless of what style they choose. Frederic Sinful kicks it off with a smooth electric guitar and vocoder-laced italo groove on “Crater Sand(1).” Deep disco heads will dig. Next up is Lab faves In Flagranti with a departure from their usual dirty disco style on “Rush(2)” which flexes more of an edgy, drugged-up punk rock sound. Not mad at that at all. Flip the disc and get ready for more vocoder disco fun on Borke Woerter’s “Foe Tim Out(3),” but its Freddie Mas’ “Tails Of Prevalence(4)” that really got me going with its funky post-punk disco action (fun fact: Brennan Green played ALL the instruments on this joint!). Impressive. – turntablelab.com

This is the third release in the fantastic Sound Superb series, and the quality is as good as the other three. Kicking off with newcomer Frederic Sinful’s “Crater Snad” a brilliant amalgamation of Balearic vocals, Italo style bass, lead guitar and a nice mid tempo groove. In Flagranti are up next with “Rush” a nice garage rock groove, all guitars and stuttering beats, with a snippet of vocals, sure this is an edit, dunno what though. On side-B Borke Woerter’s “Foe Tim Out” is a brilliant squelchy techno disco number with ace vocoder and weird synth squiggles, before the big analogue bass sound comes in. Last up Freddie Mas’ “Tails Of Prevalence” gets replayed by Brennan Green or something, says on the label in brackets (this version and all instruments by Brennan Green), so I think that means it’s a cover version. Anyway it’s a nice off kilter punk funky joint.
