Oblio’s smooth sound and spacious pads fit perfect in to the “so called” balearic vibe. if you’re not in a rush and have a moment to listen you will enjoy the typical Oblio melodies and chord progressions. like all Oblio songs there is lot’s of synth and arpeggios and no samples.

Having wowed us with their “The Crux Of The Matter” EP out on Codek earlier in 2008, Oblio return with another trio of deep electronic tracks that squeeze in under the big Balearic umbrella. Featuring smooth synth sounds and spacious pads these tracks are as lush as they come. “Epicuranism” is the most upbeat (that’s the Balearic version of upbeat though, so not very fast at all), with nicely reverbed keys flitting about. “Principle Of Discovery” continues the theme, but in a slightly more stripped-down way. Saving the best ’til last we have “Faculty Of Reincarnation” (10 out of 10 for pompous titles guys!), a slo-mo plodder with intricate arpeggios and uplifting synth lines. – piccadillyrecords.com
