IN FLAGRANTI – ‘IT,S ALL RUBBISH’
sasha crnobrnja and alex gloor aka in flagranti are destined to take 2006 by storm with their soon to be released long player. they create something that sits between electro house and disco but adds a little bit of punk funk zip. ‘it’s all rubbish’ starts as it ends in full throttle disco mode – ‘business acumen’ drops some of that disco cowbell bass magic while ‘deceptive secrecy’ goes all krautrocktastic. essential. -

IN FLAGRANTI – ‘IT,S ALL RUBBISH’
More funky upbeat disco meets 80′s chic from the In Flagranti crew who drop three fashionable cut and paste numbers here. The title track is a cocaine fuelled percussive disco ride with dope little edits, a vocoded vocal hook and some great synth blasts. On the flip |Business Acumen| goes down a slower more twisted old school Idjut ave with more great percussive disco action, fat bass and a steady supply of switching conga riffs. Rounding off the ep is |Deceptive Secracy| a deeper than deep Lindstrom meets Moroder flavored track.

IN FLAGRANTI – ‘IT,S ALL RUBBISH’
In Flagranti still high on disco with, supposedly, the last in this 12″ series, ending it in the same cut and paste fashion as the previous releases. Both the first two tracks are intended to have you stomp your feet to an easy yet inventive four to the floor disco groove. “Deceptive Secrecy” is more on the dreamy tip with layers of arpeggios.

IN FLAGRANTI – ‘IT,S ALL RUBBISH’
In Flagranti are back with another corker on the bodaciously non-conformist Codek. Tongue-in-cheek electro-disco title track that you can take seriously, too. This record’s theme is Britt Ekland and her seperation from Rod Stewart. ‘Business Acumen’ with it’s dark guitar riff and slurpy disco beats might just reflect that alleged £1m settlement (see EP title for Ms. Ekland’s response to said rumour/leak/fabrication/taxing question). And the 8/4 oddbeat syncopation certainly isn’t lost on us as it heralds ‘Deceptive Secracy’. It’s just a good thing that none of that sort of behaviour goes on

IN FLAGRANTI – ‘IT,S ALL RUBBISH’
No one makes dance music quite like Brooklyn’s In Flagranti, whose productions channel energetic disco, a certain kitsch panache and deliriously repetitive beats into the most compelling 12″s since Daft Punk turned into androids. Continuing their run of ace tracks sleeved in brilliantly designed bags is “It’s All Rubbish”. The title track is a devilish Moroder-style workout, backed by the chunkier, punk funk breaks of “Business Acumen” and technological quavering of “Deceptive Secracy”. If you like this, then check out the Codek Records website to see the little videos thay make for each track too!
